hello,
i have a sony vaio with windows vista, would like to know how to uninstall OneNote 2007. i accently clicked on the ballon on the bottom of my screen and it installed and i really dislike this program. ive tried looking for an uninstall icon in the program files from hard drive, but there was none.
any help would be appreciated,

I am not sure why this has become such a hot button issue. I am sorry that my comments have made it worse.
I added the remove instructions at the top f the thread because I thought it would help people. It was done directly from my uninstalling it for a test. Let me repeat the basics of that instruction, since a piece of it seems to have gotten lost:
From Start --> Control Panel --> Programs and Features, find your version of Office in the list of programs. Click the "Change" link at the top of the list. Wait for Office to do the set up. On the list of options, select "Add or Remove Features". Click Continue. Select OneNote from the list. RIght click it and select "Not Availalbe", then click continue again. Your computer will buzz for a while.... When done, OneNote should be removed from your computer.
Please be sure that you have another printer available to that machine so that you get a new default printer once Send to OneNote is gone.
As for the other question: No - OneNote doesn't slow down my machine. I usually have at least one instance of it up and I don't see any slow down at all. In fact, installing it and getting it set up only takes a minute or two on my machines. I would love to know more about what is on your machines that is causing the slow down.
Some of us do care about OneNote problems. Just because I can't live without it doesn't mean you should use it. I am sorry for the problems this thread has caused.
It's an issue for me because I just want to print a word doc and it keeps trying to print to OneNote, not my printer. I don't have to time or the inclination to mess with it; just want to print. Unfortunately, going to Control Panel to uninstall it doesn't either. When I find Office, then click Change, my only options are Quick Repair and Online Repair, no install. Don't want to have to put everything in Dropbox, go to my Apple laptop to print everything. I just rid of this!

Nobody hates ONE NOTE worse than I do, I am sorry you got stuck with it, It is a DAMM Virius with no certain terms and you need to unstall it throgh the Control Panel like any other program then you have to go search to find them all: "Tableofcontentsonenote.TOC" or somehing like that with the ONE NOTE Icon. You can catch this Virus if that other person is just looking at your files or folders. AND this has to be reported to Microsoft promptly and directly ... Hence, WHY I do not need MS OFFICE 2007 Student and use MS Office 2000 PRO insead, For Windows Vista and 7, Look in the "All USERS" profile folder\Start Menu\Prpgrams\Startup (For Windows XP) you need to look at progrgrams come on when you boot Windows. You have to be savvy enough how to get to it in Windows Vista or 7 and get past the security protection to reach these hidden folders, IF you see "Everyone" regardless how it is marked, It will DENY you access, you DELETE it!!! And set it to yor profile name and then set it for full control and the rest will also be checknarked. ONCE you access the folder then replase it and all the shortcuts in your USER profile folder to those you created yourself that are not restricted. If you do not have a CD for MS Office 2007, It is worth having so you can delet the son of a gun! MS Office 2010 Student is NO Better. There are a few hurdles to know to get MS Office 2000 Pro to work flawlessly with Windows 7 and one clue is that it does not start "AGENTSERVER.EXE in which shows the office assistant and clear itself when you close MS Word or EXEL. NOTEPAD,exe is what I use for notes and things to copy from or to other text formats. And "WRITE.exe" is the same as "Wordpad.exe" in which is part of Windows! AS I have said, 'TableofContents.TOC' is 4096 bytes as an empty file in each and every folder on you PC you have to get rid of, and you may have thousands of these useless marker files. It is not impossible to get rid of it all, you have to be very persistant in figuring how to get to the root of the cause. It took me Windows 7 to figure out Windows Vista and there is only one difference to me, Windows 7 that I have is 64-bit program and Vista is 32-bit program I use for one of my eight PC and What I do know about 7 goes along with Vista and all of its issues are solved. Do not be afraid to use what you have left between your ears because "If there is a will, there is a way"!

You are delusional. If you search the web you will see hundreds of complaints.
One Note has hijacked my computer.
I did nothing to turn it on, but the last update that was installed has now made it impossible for me to print anything from either the web or my documents.
It might be useful on a tablet, but on a desktop it is a waste of time.
I don't need Microsoft's help in organizing either my computer or my files.
You should always ask us before installing new programs.
None of the suggestion on uninstalling seem to work.

Some things you cannot do individually, some you can. IF you cannot, it is best to delete all of MS Office 2007 Student like I did and THEN select out those you do want and not choose Onenote like I did. OR buy or get an earier version of MS OFFICE like MS Office 2000 Pro. Then you have something that works! If you have to make a lot of notes in plain text, then USE Nopad! Or WordPad. The difference is that Notepad you cannot format your notes, WordPad you can like writing in different fonts, sizes and colors like MS Word 2000 Pro. Like make your own calendar with any picture, So WHY buy a calendar when you can make your own? MS Office 2000 Pro has the option how you want what parts installed or not. And how it is running from a CD or from your PC! It is like expanding a 58 GB Partition to 64 GB from a Solid State Drive? It can be done even if it drive letter C and it has Windows XP on it! I already have done it, and it requires TWO PCS as the other has Windows Vista or 7 and it is doing that.
The ultimate way is not to have MS OFFICE 2007 Student installed at all on drive letter C, and do it on another partition or drive, IF you use the default installing squence, you are in trouble, The C partition is strictly for Windows ALONE!!! and even though MS Office 2000 and 2007 Student are from Mirosoft, it is NOT part of Windows. YOU all put all of your eggs in one basket on drive letter C, and then you wonder why the PC crashes and ther is NO TRUE backup. Windows Vista and 7 do require at least two partitions, and the recovery partition MUST be absolutely protected, but is is worthless because it is the Factory default making you lose what you have else on drive letter C: The correct way is to clone the entire boot drive! It take several hours to do, but It has to be done at least once every six months so you can keep your data and have windows boot properly where that cloning process took place in time.
