I get the following message when i try to open a word document that i desperately need
The name in the end tag of the element must match the element type in the start tag
Location: Part: word/document.xml, Line: 2, Column: 96760
I know how to "unzip" the docx files and get to the main document.xml file, but i know nothing about xml programming. Any suggestions? i got an xml editor and found that there are 6 mismatch errors, but i don't know how to fix them. I also don't know how to rezip al the files back into a docx format. I would love any help. Thanks.

Thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much it took me forever to do that file.
I am going to be doing the same thing over and over again, i.e processing results on excell, with formulas and equations in, and then copying and pasting into word will i always have the same issue. is ther anyway i can prevent it happening again?
It's a bug in Word 2010. I doubt there is a way to avoid it.
So far nobody seems to have been able to describe the exact conditions when it occurs. I noted that often textboxes are involved or that people had been copy/pasting part of the equations. You might want to try to avoid that type of actions, but there is no guarantee that this will stop things from going wrong.
Anyway, take plenty of backups. Something you should be doing anyway.

There were two errors. They should be fixed without data loss, but you might want to check the bottom of page 1 and the entire page 2 carefully.

No, it's a bug in Word. Except for switching back to Word 2007, there isn't much you can do at the moment.
