Outlook will not start in safe mode either.  Tried repairing office.  Can't even delete a profile as that hangs as well.

Press WinKey+R.  In the Open field, type regedit and hit Enter

Delete the following key to delete profile, once deleted re-create the profile.

I've seen this problem several times and it's not tough to fix.

Rather than deleting a profile or taking any other destructive approach, I've found that you can simply create a new one with no risk.

Step One: Make sure Outlook is not running:

  • CTRL-ALT-DEL to open the Task Manager.
  • Choose the "Processes" tab to show all running processes.
  • Right Click on Outlook.exe (if it is running) and select "End Process Tree".

Step Two: Back up your profile:

  • Go to Control Panel/Mail and choose "Show Profiles..." to open the profiles dialog.
  • Rename your broken profile to "old profile"
  • Select "Prompt for a profile to be used".

Step Three: Start Outlook - problem solved:

  • Now start Outlook normally.
  • When it asks which profile to use, click on the "New..." button.

Outlook will now simply create a completely new profile which will, hopefully, solve all of your problems.

Once you have finished this troubleshooting/repair, tell Outlook to always use your new profile (See Step Two for instructions).

Hi to all, just to tell you, i had the same issue, tried all the solutions provided without finding one that worked out for me, but i did a simple test, i logged on the computer using another windows's account (computer is on our domain), that one was able to use outlook 2013 without any issues, after checking around a bit, i figured out that the user that was having the issue had a problem with his windows's update, it crashed while installing a windows's update, so i redid his windows's profile and guess what, Outlook 2013 now works perfectly as it use to do.

So if you have tried all the solutions on this page and come up empty, try logging on to the computer with another user name, if it works, you've got a corrupted windows's profile, if that's the case, backup the user's data and delete the existing profile and redo it to fix it.

In my case i had a windows 7 64 bit system with office 2013 enterprise version, a Lenovo T450S model. Once you have redone the windows's account profile, in my case we are working on a domain, so we created a brand new window's profile for the user. You will have to make a new profile for the user or person in the control panel for his outlook access, but it will work better and fast this time.

    Hope this helps.

    Have a nice day

Tried it, didn't work.  Outlook will initially start when I'm in a fresh session of windows 7, but if I close Outlook 2010 and try to reopen it, it will hang at "loading profile".

    Try going to:

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Delete the .NST and .OST file (OST is where your email is stored) associated with your account

    Start Outlook

That will force outlook to create new files and to redownload your email, fixing the issue.

    It worked for me
