Why does my "tab" key no longer cycle out of the "TO" area? Outlook Live Web Browser

Good morning,

Within the past 2 days, my Outlook Live web browser will no longer tab from the "TO" field to the "CC" field or the "BCC" field when email addresses autopopulate into the "TO" field.

It has tabbed fine for almost 5 years for all contacts, but for the past few days, it will no longer work on any of the names in my contact list.

If I enter their name and then try to tab down to the subject line, it highlights the name in yellow, but it will never tab down to the other fields.

If I put my cursor in the subject line and then tab, the cursor will move from the subject line to the body of the email.

Why is the Outlook Live web browser functioning this way on certain names in my contact list?

I have cleared my cache and cookies.

I have tried using incognito mode.

Nothing has worked.

Hi! Microsoft tech switched me to Classic Outlook and problem has gone away. By doing this, I would assume that there is no easy fix within 365 yet. Classic is a good version offering extra features. There was no extra cost to go to Classic

I am experiencing the same issue. I only use O365 online and noticed not being able to Tab out of To, CC or BCC fields. I can tab from the subject line or anywhere within the body of the email. I use Microsoft Edge as my web browser at work and Firefox at home. Both return the same issue. I did notice this starting to happen the week of March 31, 2025.

The version of Classic Outlook the tech moved me into moves just as fast as MS365 in all aspects. I used it for years with the company I worked with and had no issues with speed etc. I have all my settings adjusted. Also Classic allows my to add emails from other people to a reply which greatly improves my responses when I need to refer to another email for support…this is Avery good feature that I have back now

The thing is with classic outlook that it takes far too long to send messages and synchronize folders - that was why I moved to new outlook in the first place. Aargh!!
