Privacy settings disable but the ugly CoPilot Dropdownmenu is still there in the upper right corner of outlook?

Copilot must be made a choise.

The other day I wrote two emails (not in English, but in my native language which I think I master quite well), and I was interrupted by copilot both times, telling me that copilot could write these emails better than me. I really hate this. I am 70 years old, I have my style in my private emails and do not want to be replaced by a machine.

Also, does this mean that all our mails are being copied?

Thank you drumsorbit! I couldn't agree more! It seems to have become commonplace that I run into some option/feature that I don't want/don't need - but - they don't offer a way to opt out. TOTALLY annoying!

Fair enough, re LibreOffice. For as little as I need it personally, it does the trick. Work pays for all of the work office suite I need there. The big thing is the email option. And I don't mind paying. I've had a paid family subscription to MS365 (or whatever it is they're calling it this week) for many years. I really liked the OneDrive space it offered and made sharing with family around the wrold an easy experience. That's not as important now, and I can easily store everything locally.

MS has been pushing people to subscription for a decade or more now. Even if you don't need everything they offer. There's a managlement disconnect at the point where they can't fathom ALL of this rubbish they're offering for one price isn't a deal for most of us. Don't want it, don't need it, will never have a use for it. It's why I ditched Adobe for Affinity Pro.

.... sorry for the rant ... I'm really tired of paying for goods and services and then being told I must pay more for this shiny new thing that offers no benefit to me or my work. And I can't turn it off. I can't just have the thing(s) I need that have always been available.

I moved to MailSpring Mail and Google Calendar to replace Outlook 2016. I am not a fan of Libre Office as it doesn't offer individual applications. I prefer each program to be stand alone, ie the spreadsheet program, the word processor program, etc. I don't like opening the program to open other programs that I need. It is worrysome in my opinion.

What bothers me is I paid for Microsoft Office 2016 Professional Plus and now I have to put up with Microsoft saying I don't own my copy and they can change it anytime they please. I don't need or want their clutter. Surely, a group of Office users could band together and file a class action suit against the monsters at MS.
