Blocked senders and domains list has disappeared, Outlook now not saving blocked list

I have been seeing the same problem. My 100s long list of blocked senders is gone.

I have seen one small improvement. New blocked senders are sticking on the list. When I first noticed this, I could add new blocked senders, but the would disappear by the next day. Now the blocked senders that I add seem to be sticking around.

The 100s of previously blocked senders, probably lost forever. Will MS show up here and say, "oops, we really blew that"? Probably never.

Has anyone looked at the email Rules system? That seems to be trashed as well. I also had some rules set up to filter out senders and subjects. Those are now lost and broken. Previously you could set up a list of conditions as OR terms. You could do something if the subject matched XXX or YYY or ZZZ. Now you can't do that. You can only add AND terms. You have to write a different rule for every variation, even if they all take the same action.

Screw up 3 is that if I click on the settings gear icon, it opens to the Layout page. I then have to click back to get to the main list of pages and then click to the Rules or Junk page. This bug comes and goes. I won't be surprised if it goes back to normal in a few days.

They probably let an unsupervised AI change the code.

That's because MS is and has been fully in with the corrupt spamming industry. MS could care less about your privacy. They fully are and have been participating in the spreading of unwanted spam. Spam is the business of Microsoft.

This is (and always has been) evident in the simple fact that, to begin with, the user must go through at least five different steps in blocking domains. I have complained for years about this.

But, Microspam, as I have said before has been an active participant in promoting the spam industry. They, like all the rest, Google, Yahoo, Apple, etc. financially benefit from all of us having no option, but to put up with spam.

It should be easy to report and block spam domains, despite spammers adding dot something to the everlong domain names.

Additionally, I have complained before that it should be possible to block even countries from contacting you. I have no business with any domains ending with a .in, a .fr or a .au. It should just be easy to restrict my communications to .com, .net, or dot-whatever country I operate in.

But no. It's a F(cking free for all. It is impossible to believe that Microcrap, in 2025, in the days of AI and they're fffffing COPILOT, that one is not able, and neither do they manage to centrally block certain domains.

So it is all by design.

That's the truth.

I too am having the same issue! Totally frustrating, so many people have said that we have lost our extremely long block lists yet we are told to clear temp cache or use a different browser, i mean come on we aint stupid and please stop treating us as such! This is an MS Outlook issue on their end!

The tools we have to block junk are a joke and something seriously needs to be done about this ASAP! Billions of £ & $ are scammed from people every year, at least help us protect ourselves!

Make it easier to block the domain the email actually came from, its such a pain trolling through the message source to find the real place the email come from!

I agree. I have wondered for years how Microsoft manages to monetize spam delivered to its disgruntled customers.

Often, I have figured it has to do with not wanting to provide "free" email services to Windows users. I don't pay for 365 or any Microsoft product other than the Windows operating system each time I purchase a new laptop. Some would say I am foolish to continue with Windows, but it dominates the pc market. Chromebooks, while I prefer gmail's ability to resist spam, are good for school kids. They just aren't compatible with the optional finance software I need on my laptop. Macs are narrowly proprietary-oriented.

Microsoft pop-ups and updates and what nots continually pressure Windows users to subscribe to services. Maybe people do just that, subscribe to 365, in order to ameliorate the annoyances. I strongly suspect that annoyances still abound even after paying for service.

Do you think they market email services to spammers knowingly? I've thought that is a possibility, too.

By the way, in the old days, you could block country codes. I did that. It was very helpful back when....

I have been putting domains and emails in to the block list for years!!! and like the rest of you it all was removed, needless to say I was mad!!!! now I am getting so much of spam that it has become maddening lest not even mention all the adds in emails geezzzzz thankfully I have an ad blocker .

At first I thought I had found a fix by removing Microsoft copilot and my list remained in the block list after 2 days it was removed again, so hit discard to retrieve partial block list and before you add more to your block list.

I have been adding more but noticing that the domains and emails I adding are in my block list and they are not being blocked.

my next move it to reactivate an old email and NO it it is not Microsoft related I am totally fed up with this vendor
