How do I permanently turn off Copilot prompts in my Outlook.com webmail messages?

Ooops. I guess I spoke too soon. The annoying thing went away for a week, but now it's back, as a little icon at the beginning of each line in Hotmail. There's now a "Copilot" button on the upper right of my Hotmail email screen, but it doesn't allow you to turn it off--only to select it for "Reply" or "Summarize."

Please, Microsoft, listen to the hundreds of people who are sick of this thing and get rid of it!!!!

SOLUTION - Thanks to the various people who pointed this out, but I have just followed it and it seems that when my subscription next renews the alleged AI features will be turned off.

• Go to your Microsoft 365 account
• Access your subscription
• Select to "Cancel" the subscription

You are then offered the option to save £30.00 and remove the pointless (in my opinion) features...

Note: The "Try Draft with CoPilot" is still there in both webmail and using the windows mail app - but fingers crossed it will go when my subscription renews.

(And you've just whacked up my 365 subscription, dammit! i'm paying more for features I hate!)

You don't need to pay for the subscription increase. If you click on the option to cancel, it'll go to a page where you can select a 365 subscription with "no AI" and then it'll be the same price as before. It's very sneaky and dishonest that Microsoft doesn't offer you this option unless you say you're going to cancel.

Not sure if this is a "fix" but when I try to cancel the annual subscription ($179?), it prompted me to change my subscription to a different "LOWER COST WITHOUT AI - Microsoft 365 Family Classic AU$139.00/year". Changes won't take effect till March 2025 though... fingers crossed for now.
