Record the screen and screenshot no longer possible in the Outlook app after app update version 4.2445.1

Unfortunately, since the update it is no longer possible to take a screenshot or screen record in the Outlook app. The photo or video remains black. IOS is at version 18.1.1.

I have found that this problem is not due to IOS, but rather occurs after updating the Outlook app.

    Hi Dimitri Unger,

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

I understand how frustrating it can be to encounter problems with the Outlook app, especially after an update. To help us narrow down the scenario, please allow me to collect additional information.

    • May I know are you using a Microsoft 365 Business/Education account, a personal Microsoft account (such as Outlook.com, hotmail.com, or live.com), or another third-party account?
    • Does it only happen in the Outlook app? How about Excel/Word apps and other apps on your phone?
    • Could you please try to clear cache and restart your device and then try again?

Based on the research, if you are using a Microsoft 365 business account, it is possible that your admin block screenshots and screen recording. For more details, please check iOS/iPadOS device settings in Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn

Please provide the necessary information and we will investigate further on this matter. Thank you for your cooperation!

    Sincerely

    Luckie Shi| Microsoft Community Moderator

We at our company also have the same issue. It is limited to outlook only, other apps i.e. excel, word etc. works.

Your company probably has App Protection Policy configured. This was introduced in a recent update. Screen capture block is enabled if you have specific settings configured.

So far it seems to affect Outlook only, but more apps will follow as they get updated.
