How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?

I may, maybe once a year when tagged into a super long email thread try to get a summary... but 99.99% of the time I will never want to use this, as such the banner is annoying and consumes lots of valuable space where I could render my email.

How can I turn this off? or hide it by default?

It’s of no use to you, but it’s useful to them. They are simply interested in everything, and all the gathered information is used for their own benefit. Resistance is futile, and they won’t change it. Based on that, they analyze all emails. How else could they justify AI reading emails? They couldn’t come up with anything smarter to divert attention from their main intention.

For that reason, I left Outlook.com.. I now use it for trivial matters where I don’t know what email address to provide. It’s really a shame and pure impudence. Do you believe in privacy policies? If privacy policies are truly sincere, then why do they do it? Why do they impose summary by Copilot? The only progress that could happen is that they reduce that banner, which serves to distract from their real intention.

If you use the New Outlook app on your computer, you can turn off the summary. The web version can't do that simply because they need to process and analyze everything you write somewhere.

All your emails have been read, whether you wanted it or not. And they did it without any prior notice.

I will not stop emailing them until they remove it.

If you tap the summarize button it gives you the option on thumbs up or down.

I send this reply: Please remove Copilot. I didn't ask for and do not want anything or anyone looking over my shoulder every time I write an email. I'm fluent enough to deal with it all myself.Millions of others do not want Copilot. It takes up too much screen space. It also interferes with copy/paste.

That answer is unacceptable! Turning off Copilot altogether just to remove an unwanted "enhancement" from a single app is ridiculous. This needs to be fixed before the "new" Outlook becomes the only Outlook.

PS: Thanks for making folders reorderable. Still a few bugs there but getting better.

    You are 100% correct Paul

    I will not give up.

    I email them every day.

They do not care about us!
