For everyone wondering about Firefox on Win 7, on top of the ESR version mentioned by others, you can also try Pale Moon ( https://www.palemoon.org ) which is the one FF fork still supported on W7, and it even has a portable version that you don't need to actually install to use. But it's VERY resource hungry and painfully slow, basically don't expect to be able to do much else on the computer, especially on one with 4 Gb of RAM or less, with it running, so it's for one purpose only really.

But the reply I got on another topic makes me fear that all of these workarounds are just temporary and soon even they will stop working, see the replies from Diane Poremsky on https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/outlk_win-outtop_classic-outsub_ofh/outlookcom-wont-load/139ec8b2-2b29-49d2-864f-aa26c8b40173 and this article that she pointed me to: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/outlook-blog/keeping-our-outlook-personal-email-users-safe-reinforcing-our/ba-p/4164184
