Microsoft finds this occurs with EDGE browsers version starting with 109.
I have had the same version for months.
This error occurred within the last week, with no change on my part.
Microsoft decided HOTMAIL/OUTLOOK customers who were not using windows 10 or
windows 11 would have to go elsewhere or use a non-Microsoft browser.
IOW, they flipped a switch to cause the error and deny access.
As a former IT person, doing that to customers is viewed as arrogance and an insult.
That's how I take it.
The worst thing, IMO, is that they did 'whatever' without any notice.
That caused a lot of searching for answers, especially when the error message
indicates to 'try again, open a new page, refresh this page' etc.
A nicer thing to do would have been a message along the lines of:
"we changed things so your OS is no longer supported
using the software that we provided, go buy a new computer."
Instead they wasted a lot of peoples' time searching for a fix that did not and
will not exist.
Haughty and arrogant seem to fit the bill as adjectives for their choices.
