Am I hacked? (received an email from my own emailaddress)

Hi,

I received an email presumably send from my own emailaccount, subject 'You've been hacked' starting with

'I want to inform you about a very bad situation for you. However, you can benefit from it, if you will act wisеly. Have you heard of Pegasus? This is a spyware program that installs on computers and smartphones and allows hackers to monitor the activity of device owners. It provides access to your webcam, messengers, emails, call records, etc. It works well on Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. I guess, you already figured out where I’m getting at.'

Etc.

So the content of the email doesn't worry me, but what I can't understand is why the e-mail is send from my account. Or why it looks like it is send from my account. It doesn't show any other address.

When I check Source of the message, the following pops up, but this to me is jibberisch... Can anyone explain to me why it looks like I send this to myself and if I indeed been hacked or not?

Thank you!

I have the exact same issue. Using my own email address, the threat re porn (I don't watch it), send crypto, etc. It references Pegasus spyware, but my antivirus and other scanners don't find anything. There is no way to report this as phishing as it comes straight to my spam box and all I can do is delete, which doesn't fix this!

It says, "I’m some kind of God who sees everything. However, don’t panic. As we know, God is merciful and forgiving, and so do I. But my mеrсy is not free.

Transfer 1550$ to my Litecoin (LTC) wallet: ltc1qnevwtwfral9zjdnmkkn590a4k59yn9pvzhqx5z "

This is a Microsoft issue, letting this take place. We've changed our passwords, etc. but you are letting innocent people who may not know better fall victim to this scam. Your servers must stop this.

I'm also getting a ton of "unknown sender" and empty sender addresses and it won't let me block them. You are letting them fill up my email and forcing us to buy more space if we want to continue to receive emails. This is bad business practice and must be fixed as well.

Ahhhhhh, Yes I have been hacked. Received 876 emails from foreign countries all with attachments sent to my by me. I also received a ransom email from the hacker demanding bitcoins to free my microsoft account and email. The ransom email was from me to me and I traced out an account ******@hotmail.com. Where he or she hacked my facebook account too, and added their email with a new password. I'm still trying to resolve with facebook as I can't remove he email cuz he created a fake Meta account. which over rides anything I try to change. Basically caught in a loop, remove he email and it reverts to the Fake Meta account to enter the password to remove the fake email. The ******@hotmail.com is a domain or remote server. It's not a valid email

Changing the passwords doesnt help a hacker spy on you for the long term. A spy will only give themselves away or strike when it is most opportune for them. Theyre in it for the long con generally.
