How do I download the "Classic" version of Outlook to my computer?

How do I download the "Classic" version of Outlook to my computer? My web hosting service who also supports my email address does not support Microsoft's New cloud-based Outlook app and therefore I need to use the Classic version. I have already downloaded my Microsoft 365 applications to a new computer and cannot figure out how to revert back to Classic Outlook. Thank you for your help.

Is Outlook installed? Outlook.exe is here - you can use Windows key + R to open the Run command and paste the path, including the parenthesis in the run box then press Enter.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE"

if you use 32-bit Office, it is here -

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE"

The only free version of Outlook is new Outlook.

You can purchase a standalone copy of classic outlook, but it is about as expensive as home and student. :(

Buy Microsoft Outlook (PC or Mac) | Price of Outlook with Microsoft 365 or Standalone

If you need a classic Outlook look-alike, try eM client. Or get one of the Office offers often on groupon or at stacksocial to use instead of Home & Student.

Hi Diane,

Would a new download and installation override a previous installation of Outlook?

I am a MS 365 subscriber. In the last couple of days though, my Outlook (Classic) 365 has crashed (all of a sudden) upon restarting the PC. It comes up with an error message when I try to open Outlook, and does not let Outlook open at all.

The following is the error message I get:

"Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service."

I have tried all the troubleshooting methods on the web, including:
- Setting up a new profile;
- Resetting the Navigation Pane;
- Trying to open Outlook in safe mode (doesn't even start in safe mode);
- Repairing the Office installation;
- Deleting items from the registry at \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup;
- and some others.
Thus, the question: Would a new download and installation override a previous installation of Outlook?
