I received an email stating Update your sign-in technology before September 16th, 2024 to maintain email access. Is this legit or a scam?

I've received this message also about getting my mail on Office outlook.
i've read that it is not a scam, but the long long message doesn't say how to fix the problem? We have relied on microsoft to look for answers on the internet. Do we need to change the passwords again whit a full stop or exclamation mark and/or more numbers or capital letters?

My wife and I are over 80 years old and have noone to turn to to fix this problem on our office 2010 settings. will our phones be affectected also? And does this affect our contacts.

We have no problems with the computer, banking or the internet.

I also had this dilemma but thanks to a fella called Hal who was very helpful in this forum

he suggested I download the Microsoft Outlook app

All my devices are Apple so in my case I downloaded the Outlook app on each one and entered all details required and then deleted the Apple “MAIL” app which was the default app that was preset on Apple devices when you buy them

we’re not tech savvy enough to know otherwise

I can’t see your devices to tell you what to do

But read the responses I received when I asked the first question in the forum and hopefully you’ll find the answer
