For those of us like myself who feel like they're reading Greek, you basically need to make sure your email accounts are NOT either POP or IMAP. I located the below online on how to figure that out:

    • iPhone Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > Your mail account > Accounts. Your account information will say either POP or IMAP ACCOUNT INFORMATION.
    • Android Select your email address, then click Server Settings under Advanced Settings.
    • Outlook Web App

Select Settings > Mail > POP and IMAP on the toolbar. The POP and IMAP settings page will list the POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP server name and other settings.

An O365 Family account gives you access to Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, and the rest of the Office suite. I am assuming you downloaded these to your Windows 10 computer. Doing so would give you the Classic Desktop version of Outlook, the one with the File tab on the lefthand side of the Ribbon.

If you go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings and your @live.com account says it's Type is Microsoft Exchange, there is Zero point Zip dot Nada for you to do you are good to go. More info is here:

I am 89 years old and this is totally confusing and don't know if this is a "Scam"!

My son has me on an Office 365 Family Account. I use Outlook on a "Windows 10 computer".
My email is a " .live" account that I have been suing for probably 20 Years.

I don't get emails on a Cell Phone.
I don't own any Apple devices.

I don't understand any of the instructions or if they relate to me.
My son is unable to assist at this time other than directing me to ask at "Microsoft"

Please, I am somewhat "Panicking", I don't know what to do if anything.
