Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size. Why make updates that make things more difficult?

UPDATE 09.20.2024

AGAIN, this issue has returned, and the previous work arounds don't work either.

This site is a message board, you need to contact MS directly to get this resolved.

I contacted Support, and they say they can't fix because the issue is on the server, so MS has to fix it.

Go into your Outlook app and select Help >Feedback > Report a Problem.

The problem is: Image sizing handles do not work, and images can no longer be resized when pasted in a message body.

Hoping they get flooded with these reports and the issue is resolved quickly.

SOLUTION 1 (09 20 2024):

Paste image into a MS Word document, where the resizing handles work, size the image then clip & paste it into the message.

SOLUTION 2 (09 20 2024):

I received another work around from Anthony in a post on this board . . .

Clip image >"Save As" onto hard drive> go to Outlook> select Insert>select picture> browse to location image is stored> select image and insert into message> At this point you have 1 chance to size it with the sizing handles, after that the sizing handles no longer work.

SOLUTION:

Now to resize an image

1. Click to the right in a blank area so the image is NOT selected

2. Hold Shift Key down and then hit the Left Arrow Key and the resize handles will appear

Re: Cannot resize email photos. This is 9-21. None of the 9-21 and 9-20 solutions work. None of the July solutions work. No handles, no size choice in drop down. I only use the size choice to bring a maxed out photo down to a size more easily used with handles.

Why is it I have more issues with Outlook than any other program? Maybe because it is continually adding techie features it was fine without? If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Let's not get carried away. it's very similar to the previous problem... The application is quite complex, not obvious for me anyway... let's not discuss whether it was intended ;)

I tried a few things, clearing the cache, resetting the app, uninstalled, reinstalled... nothing helped. I don't have much time today...

I guess it is there only since the last update, or still is there, otherwise a complete reinstall would have fixed the issue.
I hope someone will comme and help ... you still have the web version just in case.

That's not true. I've been using the "new" Outlook for probably a year now and I have been able to click on the image and resize every single day since then... until TODAY. Today being 9/20/2024. The only time I've had an issue was a couple of months ago, but even then I could right click on the image and select "resize". Then it went back to the original way... click and drag the corners in or out to resize. Now, today, all of a sudden there is ZERO option to resize. This is beyond frustrating.
