Outlook Web no notification sound when receiving emails

I AM NOT GETTING THE SOUND NOTIFICATIONS AGAIN :( This is after my pc was updated (microsoft windows). It also is affecting my fingerprint sensor. It does not work anymore. I have to login by typing my PIN :(

HELLO EVERYONE! My email notification sound is BACK. I did not do anything. It just happened today when I logged in. I am using web outlook and chrome browser. I honestly did not make any changes with my settings. So, I guess, Microsoft has already fixed this. Please check yours

I started experiencing this just today. I have been using outlook web for almost two years now and it just happened today. I have turned on all notif as well as in my Google chrome browser, and my pc. All notif has been turned on.

I have also refreshed the settings by turning it off and on, restarted my pc twice today, nothing works.

I have signed in to another outlook account which I also owned for work, and it is doing just fine. Notif sound is working. But in my main email, the email I am using in posting this, is not working at all. Please help. I need the notif sound so I could action all email requests at work on time.

This issue still has not been fixed and none of the fixes are working. I have cleared my cache/cookies/history, restarted the browser, logged in and out of OWA, made sure that chrome allows notifications from this site, removed the "play sound" option and saved then reallowed the "play sound" option and saved, restarted my computer several times, and restarted OWA several times. I even had my IT specialist remote into my system. This issue is exclusive to the online app for outlook (OWA). I get notifications and sounds from every other app, tab, browser, and even gmail on my computer.

I really need a fix for this. I rely heavily on notifications for email as I have other tasks to do for work that require my attention, I can't keep my email front and center on screen. My calendar notifications aren't making noise either so I am almost missing meetings. When your job is fast paced and heavy, you need notification sounds.

I'm not sure if it helps anyone here but it appears the MP3 file Microsoft uses may be broken. A Microsoft Agent posted the link to the sound file in another thread here: https://r4.res.office365.com/owa/prem/16.2817.9.2655276/resources/sounds/email_notify.mp3 which, for a while, was giving an error (works as of today 8/22/24). So something probably has to be done on Microsofts end to fix the connection to the two.

I have been having the same problem for the past week. Everything is turned on, I have tried Chorme, Firefox and nothing works. Have restarted my PC. This is very annoying that its not working.
