Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
I am having the same issue and it says my sounds are all turned on, but they don't make any. This is very stressful and is impeding my ability to work efficiently.

HELLO EVERYONE! My email notification sound is BACK. I did not do anything. It just happened today when I logged in. I am using web outlook and chrome browser. I honestly did not make any changes with my settings. So, I guess, Microsoft has already fixed this. Please check yours
Hello!
I started experiencing this just today. I have been using outlook web for almost two years now and it just happened today. I have turned on all notif as well as in my Google chrome browser, and my pc. All notif has been turned on.
I have also refreshed the settings by turning it off and on, restarted my pc twice today, nothing works.
I have signed in to another outlook account which I also owned for work, and it is doing just fine. Notif sound is working. But in my main email, the email I am using in posting this, is not working at all. Please help. I need the notif sound so I could action all email requests at work on time.

I have also been experiencing this since last Friday. All the IT people at my job are stumped. It looks like it's a Microsoft issue.
Same here and outlook 365, where you can get a notification, is terrible compared to the web based version.
Being a MS provider I've noticed the machines I've remoted into all had an update to Outlook (new) around the same time as this issue. Fix it MS! It's not great when the IT Admin looks silly clicking on and off sound and notification options to end up with no resolution. The client never believes us when we say, "It must be a problem on their end"
Yep - Microsoft killed off the much used and needed sound notifications in Outlook and ONLY Microsoft can bring them back.
