Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
I tried he above but it was already turned on. I am having the same issues, this is happening in Chrome. There has to be a fix for this, this didn't resolve my issue.

HELLO EVERYONE! My email notification sound is BACK. I did not do anything. It just happened today when I logged in. I am using web outlook and chrome browser. I honestly did not make any changes with my settings. So, I guess, Microsoft has already fixed this. Please check yours
Hello!
I started experiencing this just today. I have been using outlook web for almost two years now and it just happened today. I have turned on all notif as well as in my Google chrome browser, and my pc. All notif has been turned on.
I have also refreshed the settings by turning it off and on, restarted my pc twice today, nothing works.
I have signed in to another outlook account which I also owned for work, and it is doing just fine. Notif sound is working. But in my main email, the email I am using in posting this, is not working at all. Please help. I need the notif sound so I could action all email requests at work on time.

I have the exact same problem. Actually it started late yesterday, on the 15th. I access my boxes through either Edge, Chrome or Firefox, and have lost the incoming email notification sounds on all three browsers. I had sounds on Chrome and Firefox, but not Edge for about half the day today, but lost them earlier this afternoon. I've checked, doublechecked and triple checked my settings all day day long and the Play Sound button is definitely on. Also checked my Control Panel settings to make sure sounds are turned on. Even had out IT director look at my machine and he could not figure out why the sound notifications are not coming through. Prior to yesterday it was working fine. This is extremely aggravating as our email turnaround is very time-sensitive and without notifications I have to continuously bounce in and out of my email boxes.
We have been dealing with this issue in the past 24 hours as well. No change to the settings at all. Have tried everything to get this working, but nothing is fixing this issue. If multiple people are experiencing this issue recently, then it must be an issue with Outlook. Microsoft please fix this issue as people RELY on the notifications noise for fast turnaround emails. Thank you
Hi Everyone,
I believe I’ve found a possible solution for the notification sound issue. I was able to get notification sounds by enabling the "sync across Microsoft 365" setting. While it might seem unrelated, it worked for me.
Here are the steps:
Please test this solution and let me know if it works for you as well.
Best,
I'm having the same issue, I've cleared my browser history/cache. I've run all Windows/Driver updates, I've tried different browsers and confirmed this is specific to OWA, other email systems like Gmail.com send notification sounds without issue. This is happening on my mailbox that I use for work AND a shared mailbox I use for work.
I work in IT. I rely heavily on those notifications to alert me to new tickets.
