Hovering over a hyperlink in the "new" outlook doesn't display the actual URL. How can this be remedied.

A very dangerous behavior in the new outlook is that hoving the mouse pointer over a hyperlink in an email no longer displays the actual URL of the link.

Seeing the true URL is the #1 way people can avoid getting email scammed. Removing this tool is inviting people to get defrauded. This should not be a default behavior and I cannot see how to resolve this.

    Afternoon All,

The issue persists in the current version, though some have noticed it's working. Anyone with a Hotmail/Outlook.com account connected to the new app may have seen it work fine. That's because the links in Hotmail/Outlook.com are rewritten with the Safe Links protection, at least in my case, which led me to the following fix.

Disabled the following setting in your Safe Links policy.

"Do not rewrite URLs, do checks via Safe Links API only."

URL to the safe links policy page.

    https://security.microsoft.com/safelinksv2

However, it'll only fix the issue for new emails. Old emails that didn't get their URLs rewritten will still show no URL when you hover over them.

Please change this. It's a huge security threat. Regular employees don't know they can copy the link and see if it's legit. They need to see it right away.

Same here - I have also just repaired WV2 and the hover over links isn't appearing. Agree with everyone on the thread - this needs to be resolved urgently if we are going to proceed with New Outlook as opposed to the old version (which has far better features by the way). This lack of security oversight surely must be getting picked up at MS???

I have the same Outlook version and WebView2 (just updated to check and rebooted), and I still don't have hover over links. Is there a setting that is missing somewhere? We need the hover over links to be consistent for everyone.
