How To Stop The New Outlook From Automatically Installing

I need help please to stop the new outlook from automatically installing and replacing my windows and calendar app. I have uninstalled the new Outlook 4 times today. Every time I launch the old mail and Calendar app the new outlook automatically installs without my permission. It stops me from using the old app. This is very annoying. I don't want the new app. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Your advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Chris

What worked for me was deleting the new Outlook's executable ("olk.exe") from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows".

Once it's gone, it can't forcibly launch anymore when you open Windows Mail.

You first need to take ownership of the "WindowsApps" folder, then after deleting/renaming the .exe, restore the ownership back to "TrustedInstaller" (to prevent any potential issue down the line).

There's actually a github fix for this issue apparently. I have just tried it but need to test it further with a few restarts/shutdowns to see if it works.

A class action law suit is the only course of action at this stage. Microsoft needs to be brought to heal for this BS tactic.

We should not have to be computer programmers or technicians to fix this issue. Many are not comfortable with tinkering with the software or registry. MS needs to simply STOP reinstalling an unwanted program/app. Why isn't MS adding to this conversation? Why does MS remain SILENT, and not acknowledge the issue?

I'm looking at this forum on how to stop something on MY computer being done by the arrogant dictators at Microsoft. Incredible. I'm not a computer geek. I can't perform the ideas you refer to here. A simple do not install don't ask me again button would let the OWNER of the computer control THEIR computer. I'm happy with the calendar app I have. The arrogance of Microsoft programmers and MGT to just force things we don't want and will not run on my computer is a loud statement about the management at Microsoft.
