How To Stop The New Outlook From Automatically Installing

I need help please to stop the new outlook from automatically installing and replacing my windows and calendar app. I have uninstalled the new Outlook 4 times today. Every time I launch the old mail and Calendar app the new outlook automatically installs without my permission. It stops me from using the old app. This is very annoying. I don't want the new app. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Your advice would be appreciated.

What worked for me was deleting the new Outlook's executable ("olk.exe") from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows".

Once it's gone, it can't forcibly launch anymore when you open Windows Mail.

You first need to take ownership of the "WindowsApps" folder, then after deleting/renaming the .exe, restore the ownership back to "TrustedInstaller" (to prevent any potential issue down the line).

    in it they mention a bat script that you can find in this github https://github.com/matej137/OutlookRemover

    What the script does is to uninstall Outlook new if found and install a dummy, an entry in the app list with exactly the same name so that, the real Outlook new can't install itself on top.

    I'm trying it comparing it to other computer without it and in the computer with the dummy it not longer installs whereas in the other keeps happening..

    The script is open and you can study what it does.

    The enemy is listening!

    Sure enough. Woke my PC this morning and the Mail app was gone from my task bar and New Outlook was not in the list of removable programs. Started Mail from the Start Menu. Very slow to start but then started up after which New Outlook showed up in the removable programs list.

    They are funking with us!!!

    Open the new Outlook, then navigate to the Installation Path unsing the Task Manager (Expand new outlook process and right click on the main prcess -> open file path) and delete everything.

    I clicked deny for all and went into advanced and changed all the 'allow' options. It installs outlook but (so far) hasn't taken over. Mail opens with the annoying 'try new outlook' toggle (how to remove??).

    Before this, New Outlook kept taking over mail without my requesting it. So far - it hasn't done this. fingers crossed for now.
