How do I fix Outlook is suddenly not sending or receiving emails?

My Outlook account is not downloading or sending messages. I am able to login and I have used the sync button. Anyone else had this happen and know how to resolve it? I've used the Microsoft help and it was not helpful at all!

    outlook.live.com does not send or receive emails. What do you do for that?

    I have had the same problem. I can send and receive my charter.com emails on my iphone and kindle but not on my desktop. My son and I worked for hours trying to resolve the issue. I had no problem with my old Outlook, but this new Outlook is a hot mess.

    I, too, have Spectrum road runner---the last emails I could get using IMAP Outlook connection was on Feb. 4, 2025. I can still receive my emails on my phone. I can still connect with my gmail account in Outlook.

    I also use Outlook on a PC with a Spectrum email and could neither send nor receive emails in Outlook even though webmail on PC and gmail on phone worked. I reverted to 'Outlook Classic' (option on the view tab} and all emails came in and were sent. Many thanks to the community!
