My Outlook account is not downloading or sending messages. I am able to login and I have used the sync button. Anyone else had this happen and know how to resolve it? I've used the Microsoft help and it was not helpful at all!

Had the same problem starting 1/31. I tried the advice given in the thread but no success. I did check with Best Buy's Geeksquad (where I bought my laptop) and they mentioned that anyone with a IMAP type email account used by Roadrunner on Spectrum (uses .rr in the email address) is no longer compatible with Outlook. The change was recent and the Geeksquad tech noted that they have had a number of recent cases of Outlook users with Roadrunner email accounts reporting receiving and sending email problems. The solution was to switch to using Spectrum Webmail (which isn't as good) but I can get emails on my laptop again. Of course, receiving my emails on 2 phones and a tablet (not using Outlook) are no problem. Hope this helps!

I tried the repair under the setting in the mail tool. It worked once, then back to problem of sending and receiving but very slow. Its asks for your provider password, it accepted it once but then not again when I'm 100 percent sure of the password....

This new mail tool is junk the old worked fine until the update last year.

Hi, I have the same problem. I noticed it February 5. Outlook on my PC stopped syncing (receiving emails) and won't send them either (they get stuck in "Drafts"). My email provider is also Spectrum. But my email account is an old one associated with Charter (i.e. the account is in the form ******@charter.net.) Maybe the change that was attributed to Spectrum for the roadrunner accounts affected the charter accounts also? My phone has no problem receiving and sending emails to/from my Spectrum Charter account. Apparently, my phone's email app is smarter than Microsoft!

    Dear Mouvaune,

Good day, welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you seem to have encountered a problem where Outlook cannot send or receive emails.

I saw that you posted in the Outlook for Mac section, so is your problem happening in Outlook for Mac?

If so, I suggest you use the following method:

1, I suggest you first go to webmail outlook.live.com through a browser, to check if the emails are there. The purpose of doing this is to eliminate as many interruptions as possible, so that you can easily troubleshoot whether the problem is with the account or with the outlook app itself.

2, If you can send and receive emails normally on webmail, the problem is in the Outlook app itself. Please try to update it. You can check if there is any update by opening the AppStore.

    1. Re-add your account to the Outlook App. This step will eliminate many synchronization and authentication issues.

Hope these steps can help, if your problem still exists, please share more details, and I will continue to support you!

    Best regards,

    Harris-MSFT |Microsoft Community support specialist
