I understand that you received an unsolicited CAPTCHA. The following diagram illustrates the possibility of an unsolicited code.

If you just received an unsolicited code out of the blue, the odds are that someone incorrectly entered an address (whose address may be similar to yours) when requesting the code.

Please ignore the email for now and observe if you continue to receive such emails please let me know again.

    I too get this message several times a week.

    It is quite frustrating that here seems to be no genuine interest in this problem by Microsoft ... or indeed any accessible mechanism for asking them.

    At first I thought I've been hacked, but now assume that the message is (yet another) Microsoft glitch.

    Very frustrating ...

    today, 4/12/2025, at 15:02, 15:11 and 17:52 I received three single use code in my email which I never requested.

    I have been receiving the emails that I requested a code. Other emails similar I forward to the company involved to investigate. It seems as though Microsoft has no process to track down the perpetrators of this scam.
