Using Outlook for Android for personal email and calendar management

- May I please know the type of account you are using? Is it an M365 work/school account or a Microsoft/Personal account like Hotmail/outlook.com? If your account is Microsoft personal account (outlook.com/live.com/Hotmail.com), please reply back to us, so we can involve personal account team for further assistance.
Here are a few steps you can try to be able to sign in on your Microsoft account on android:
- Recheck Your Microsoft Account Settings
- Ensure that your Microsoft account is set up correctly on your phone. After changing your password, sometimes authentication settings may need to be updated on all devices where your account is connected.
- Remove and Re-add Your Account on the Phone
- On your Android phone, try removing your Microsoft account from the email app (e.g., Outlook or the built-in email app), then re-add it with the new password.
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Microsoft Account (or whichever email account you're using).
- Tap Remove account.
- Afterward, add the account back using the updated password and verify it with the authenticator code.
- Check the Authenticator App
- Make sure your Microsoft Authenticator app is up-to-date and correctly linked to your account. If your authenticator app is out of sync, it could cause issues with generating the correct code.
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Ensure it's connected to the correct Microsoft account.
- Clear App Cache and Data
- If you're using the Outlook app or another email app to access your Microsoft account, clearing the app cache and data might help resolve any lingering authentication issues.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Select Outlook (or the relevant app).
- Tap Storage > Clear Cache and Clear Data.
- After clearing, open the app and sign in again with your updated password and the authenticator code.
- Sign Out and Sign Back into Microsoft Services on Phone
- If you're using a Microsoft service such as Outlook or the Microsoft Mail app, sign out of the account and then sign back in with the new password. Sometimes, even though the password is updated on the device, the session may still be linked to the old credentials, causing issues.
