How do I "add an account on mobile to use this app" in the Outlook app on my Google pixel 2 watch?

I'm getting the error message in the Outlook App on my Google Pixel 2 watch to "add an account on mobile to use this app." My outlook app on my phone (google pixel 8) is working just fine. The app on my phone and my watch have been updated in the Google Play Store, syncing is on from settings in the Outlook app on my phone, but no data is flowing through to the Outlook app on my watch (no email or calendar items). Please help!

I was finally able to get past the "add account on mobile" screen on the watch by removing accounts, clearing phone and watch cache, rebooting both then reading account. But not all of my email is syncing across, only seeing a few emails. If I mark one as unread on the phone then it will appear on the watch. Gonna have to monitor to see if any new emails show on the watch.

I got past the "Add account..." screen too but it's still not working properly. Email is not updating on my watch and calendar isn't present at all (on watch). It shows no events for the day no matter how many there are. It seems like something with the sync from the phone to the watch is still broken.

It's been well over a month since this last worked properly. Frustrating that basic functionality has been broken for so long with no acknowledgement (to my knowledge) from Microsoft.

For some reason, it seems to work now.....As i have a lot of mail accounts, i have to check if they are all ok. but for now, it looks good.

Another questions: It seems like the Outlook watch face (the one with the calender color circles on the border, indicating the blocked time) is missing. Is there any information about this?
