How do I "add an account on mobile to use this app" in the Outlook app on my Google pixel 2 watch?

I'm getting the error message in the Outlook App on my Google Pixel 2 watch to "add an account on mobile to use this app." My outlook app on my phone (google pixel 8) is working just fine. The app on my phone and my watch have been updated in the Google Play Store, syncing is on from settings in the Outlook app on my phone, but no data is flowing through to the Outlook app on my watch (no email or calendar items). Please help!

I was finally able to get past the "add account on mobile" screen on the watch by removing accounts, clearing phone and watch cache, rebooting both then reading account. But not all of my email is syncing across, only seeing a few emails. If I mark one as unread on the phone then it will appear on the watch. Gonna have to monitor to see if any new emails show on the watch.

    UPDATE.
After getting it "working" the emails are not consistently synching to phone and the calendar is completely missing.
I did get past the "add account" issue however and have some emails but can't find the logic of why some email and not others.

Also, there is no access to folders. Only the inbox folder. So if you use multiple folders or have rules to distribute emails to various folders, there is no insight to those from the watch currently
This worked for me on a Pixel 9 Pro XL with a Pixel Watch 3 45mm. Thank you!

    The following worked for me:

    Force stop watch app

    Clear cache on watch app

    Clear data on watch app

    Relaunch watch app

Didn't need to remove or re-add any accounts. P9PF and PW3
