How do I "add an account on mobile to use this app" in the Outlook app on my Google pixel 2 watch?

I'm getting the error message in the Outlook App on my Google Pixel 2 watch to "add an account on mobile to use this app." My outlook app on my phone (google pixel 8) is working just fine. The app on my phone and my watch have been updated in the Google Play Store, syncing is on from settings in the Outlook app on my phone, but no data is flowing through to the Outlook app on my watch (no email or calendar items). Please help!

I was finally able to get past the "add account on mobile" screen on the watch by removing accounts, clearing phone and watch cache, rebooting both then reading account. But not all of my email is syncing across, only seeing a few emails. If I mark one as unread on the phone then it will appear on the watch. Gonna have to monitor to see if any new emails show on the watch.

Sorry to say, but this did not work for me: Although the messages "Add acount" disappears and my inboxes are now syncing, my calendar items did not.

And another question: Did they remove the old Outlook watch face? I cant find it anymore....

UPDATE:_ Just installed the app update on watch. Version now 4.2435.1

The message "Add acccount..." is back there. No access to inboxes again....

    Sorry Microsoft: Thats totally frustrating...

This also worked for me, Pixel 9 Pro XL & Pixel Watch 3 45mm.

I had both a Microsoft 365 for Work account and a Gmail setup on my phone, I removed only the 365 account then followed the steps with the extra precaution of rebooting both the phone and watch before re adding the 365 account on my phone. Once done both the 365 and Google accounts are accessible from my phone AND watch.

If a representative from Microsoft sees this thread hopefully there will be a more streamlined way to do this in future.

I don't believe we should have to remove the account and data on our phone given it's already there just to connect a watch.

Out of interest did you have to remove all accounts from Outlook on your phone or just the one you want on your watch?

    The following worked for me:

    Force stop watch app

    Clear cache on watch app

    Clear data on watch app

    Relaunch watch app

Didn't need to remove or re-add any accounts. P9PF and PW3
