How do I "add an account on mobile to use this app" in the Outlook app on my Google pixel 2 watch?

I'm getting the error message in the Outlook App on my Google Pixel 2 watch to "add an account on mobile to use this app." My outlook app on my phone (google pixel 8) is working just fine. The app on my phone and my watch have been updated in the Google Play Store, syncing is on from settings in the Outlook app on my phone, but no data is flowing through to the Outlook app on my watch (no email or calendar items). Please help!

I was finally able to get past the "add account on mobile" screen on the watch by removing accounts, clearing phone and watch cache, rebooting both then reading account. But not all of my email is syncing across, only seeing a few emails. If I mark one as unread on the phone then it will appear on the watch. Gonna have to monitor to see if any new emails show on the watch.

Yes this is a Microsoft software bug issue. Tried install 2 brand new watches: Samsung Galaxy 6 Pro and Google Pixel Watch 2. With both brand new watches I'm getting the same error message when tapping on the outlook app on the watch. :( I've reached out to Microsoft left several messages.

Any idea how long these bugs take to get resolved?

    Figured it out!

Had the same issue on a new Oneplus watch 2 and a Oneplus open.

    Here's the fix:

    1. Remove the account on the phone app. hit the home icon - top-left -> settings cog -> accounts -> pick the account you want to fix -> click the giant red "remove account" text (it doesn't appear to be irreversible, you can, anw you will, ee-activate it later with two clicks)
    2. Force stop the watch app.
    3. Clear cache on watch app
    4. Clear data on watch app.
    5. Re-activate your account on the phone app.
    6. Launch the watch app.

It doesn't seem to be an issue with pixel watches only. I tried to use outlook on my galaxy watch 4 and it shows the same message.

    Hi,

This seems to be an issue with my Pixel 2 watch as well. It just started happening a day or so ago. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the update.
