Classic Outlook - Until when will it be supported & available for use?

I totally agree. Classic Outlook has been a lifeline for me. The new outlook does not deserve capital letters. As Digisland said, it's like a child did a school project to create a program with a couple of Outlook's features, and didn't even do a good job. The new version is scaled down, ultra rigid and missing all my favorite features. I am praying Paul Dallman (below) is right and features will be added, hopefully all the features of Classic Outlook, otherwise I am afraid 2029 (or whenever support for Classic Outlook ends) will be a difficult year for me!

In the new outlook, click on help & then there will be a tab that says Classic Outlook. Click on that. However, every time it opens, it goes to the new & you have to go through the steps to get to classic. I haven't found a way to get it to open to the Classic.

Same thing happened to me after an unscheduled update which these **** like to do as well. They essentially eliminated the desktop version and transposed the **** web version into your computer , another **** move. You can get to a closer version of "classic" outlook by clicking on "HELP "on top left hand side of page and click" Go to classic email." I was able to at least create a shortcut from my start menu that goes directly to this classic version which I understand is the version that will be supported till 2029 (though I could be wrong.) Also the icon really is an ugly piece of **** that you cannot change in your properties because why detract from the ugliest of all user Interfaces, a regression to when the computers first came out. I'm a single user of Outlook since forever. I can't migrate from Classic to New because sometimes my Work/School account isn't recognized and sometimes my Personal account isn't recognized and sometimes both seem to work and sometimes neither do. Lately, I've been able to login successfully but I don't know why. It just happened.

Anyway, a half-hour or so ago I came across instructions for migrating to New Outlook. One page there (Licensing in new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft 365 Apps | Microsoft Learn) seems to say I can't migrate from the Classic to New with my current 365 account. Apparently there is more than one kind of single-user account. If your account appears to have been provided by an organization, you can't migrate without your IT manager's permission.

I don't have an IT manager, of course. I have me. I have a custom domain for my consulting business from GoDaddy and my Microsoft license as well. This has cursed or blessed me (take your pick) by confusing Microsoft, as so many things do. Anyway, we have until 2029 to hold onto Classic Outlook. Which, by the way, just got more UI changes that tick me off.

And, oh yeah, Wall Street loves Microsoft in spite of our troubles. Its share price is 446 today, which is a huge gain from a year ago. Go figure

new version makes my proton mail bridge useless.

now i cant communicate with outlook using the proton mail bridge for work related emails

this is a great inconvenience.
