How to uninstall Outlook (new) on Windows 11 and prevent it from redownloading when opening the Windows Mail?

Hello!

Could you please help me with uninstalling the new Outlook from my computer (Windows 11) as I would still like to use the outdated Windows Mail app?

What I tried:

  1. Uninstalled the new Outlook from settings (Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps)
  2. Blocked new Outlook preinstallation via:
  • Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -AllUsers -Online -PackageName (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullName
  • Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.OutlookForWindows).PackageFullName
  1. Blocked new Outlook installation as part of Mail and Calendar deprecation via:
  • Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online | Where {$_.DisplayName -match "microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps"} | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online -PackageName {$_.PackageName}
  • Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers -Package (Get-AppxPackage microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps).PackageFullName

All shell commands were run as Administrator and I also deleted OutlookUpdate folder in Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\Orchestrator\UScheduler_Oobe\OutlookUpdate

I would appreciate any advice regarding my question :)

    Been struggling with the annoying mess that is Outlook (New), too.

    Went to look at the Apps list, couldn't find "Outlook (New)", much less "Outlook (classic)".
    But I did find an entry for simply "Outlook".

    Ooo-err, I thought. If I uninstall that, will it uinintall my normal Outlook(classic), possibly along with all my mail settings?

    So I selected the "Advanced" menu from the Apps list, and there found a version number.
    Checked my normal Outlook(classic) - completely different version number.

    So, I took a big breath, and dselected "Uninstall" (from within the same "Advanced" page).
    Half expected my Outlook(classic) to disappear, but no, there it was, still working nicely. Phew...

    And if I typed "Outlook" in the taskbar Search box, only "Outlook (classic)" appeared.

    Does this mean I'm free of the scourge of Outlook (new) forever?
    We'll see...

    I Agree David.

    We can remove Candy-crush but we can't remove New Outlook. It would be easy for Microsoft to allow New Outlook to be removed.

    On a basic laptop with limited space, New Outlook constantly installs resulting in a full laptop as it builds and loads another email store on the hard drive. You can install another email application but New Outlook is always there in the background, taking space.

    This lack of control is driving people away from Microsoft products.

    The mail with advertising program is no longer a separate program, its part of windows.

    But, there are free programs to use instead of the microsoft mail .

    I installed this morning Tunderbird.

    This looks good. I can use it with mij outlook mail account.

    You also can use Vivaldi browser with e-mail inside. In that case you don´t have advertising neither.
