Hi everyone,
CPU activity goes to 16-22% when typing a message in Outlook 2016 and returns to 1 % when typing stops.
Deactivating (all) add-ins and Graphic acceleration did not solve the issue.
Deactivating spell check options did not cure the problem either.
The problem seems to be specific to Win 11 and does not occur on Win 10 OS.
If anyone has any suggestion on how to solve this issue...

Microsoft support is a waste of time.
I have support cases opened since May last year.
None of them has been properly addressed or resolved.
I'm not aware of way to open a formal complaint...
That's a good question. Because if you contact their customer support, they just endlessly let you try this and that and the same again, always assuming that you as the user would have misconfigured something and not Microsoft causes this bug.
Maybe the DSA (Digital services act) within the EU offers a possibility to force Microsoft to cover the issue?

We have been discussing this problem since November last year.
Many users have experienced the same issue; Yet, Microsoft probably believes that ignoring the issue will make it go away by itself...
To this day, none of the subsequent Office or Win 11 updates have cured the issue.
To the contrary: at present the CPU goes up sporadically (triggering the fan), as soon as Outlook is started (even though no typing is done). So, the situation has gone from bad to worse.
In view of the history created by this thread, it may be time to file a formal complaint to Microsoft.
I don't know it it's just a coincidence, but I currently also have massive GPU (not CPU) usage from Desktop Window Manager parallel to using Outlook. So now Outlook as well as DWM make my system very slow nearly always when I work something.
By the way, this bug also regularly again appears. Not every day, but sometimes. As soon as I quit and restart Outlook, the problem has gone.
Another reason for Thunderbird instead of really buggy and supportless Outlook?
