Unpin New Outlook from Windows task bar

THANK YOU!! Know that your efforts were not done in vain. It really helped me out with this most frustrating situation!! Stupid programmers.

For my version, this worked: select Shift, then right click the 'new' Outlook icon on the toolbar and VOILA! - more missing menu items appear including 'Unpin from Taskbar'. My organization is allowing trials of both 'new' Outlook and 'new' Teams. It is not going well for me. Moving functional items around just for the sake of it results in infuriated customers. Imagine if GM or Ford came to the car that you've already purchased and moved your radio into the trunk, your steering wheel onto the exterior roof and the windshield is removed entirely. That's the net result of Microsoft's choices with 'new' products. As a suggestion, perhaps Microsoft might fix the functionality of its other products before rolling out new ones that no-one has ever asked for.

I am discovering more and more bugs with Microsoft applications, it feels like there is a new one every week. Another annoying bug with my new outlook is that double-clicking on an email to open it in a new window and reading it and then closing it does not mark the email as read while single-clicking it and reading it in the reading view does. The copy-and-paste experience to and from Teams is a total lottery with different behaviours for no discernible reason. I have been using Microsoft products since 1992 and have not had anywhere near this number of issues with any previous iterations. Please stop making worse new versions of existing products and introducing bugs to simple tasks like copy and paste which has worked without issue for over 30 years!

At the end of Feb. 2024 and Microsoft still hasn't bothered to fix this. Thank you for figuring out how to remove it from my task bar.

Neither of these suggestions worked for me, I did not get an 'Unpin from taskbar' option when right clicking the icon on the taskbar and I did not get an 'Options' option in the menu after opening New Outlook.

The way I had to make this virus go away from the taskbar was to click on Start > click on 'All apps' > locate 'Outlook (new)' > right click 'Outlook (new)' > click 'More' > click 'Unpin from Taskbar'.

I will never get the time back I spent blindly chasing around to find this, so thank you Microsoft.

a different process of this recommendation worked for me. Thank you. I agree with the wasted time and never being able to recoup it. it took me almost 3 days to figure it out. I am surprised at Microsoft playing this game.
