Unpin New Outlook from Windows task bar

Hi. I am unable to unpin New Outlook from my task bar in Windows. Can you please advise? It seems that there is a new functionality with the right-click on the task bar icon for New Outlook. The popup window is different from all other applications. Thanks.

    Neither of these suggestions worked for me, I did not get an 'Unpin from taskbar' option when right clicking the icon on the taskbar and I did not get an 'Options' option in the menu after opening New Outlook.

    The way I had to make this virus go away from the taskbar was to click on Start > click on 'All apps' > locate 'Outlook (new)' > right click 'Outlook (new)' > click 'More' > click 'Unpin from Taskbar'.

    I will never get the time back I spent blindly chasing around to find this, so thank you Microsoft.

    Oh My God, finally I've unpinned it! Thank you! None of the options suggested by MS worked (No 'Options' available on the right click) Absolute waste of my time! Our business is wasting more and more time trying to utilise Microsoft Apps for day to day administration. The bloating, preempting and over complication of functions that used to work effectively and efficiently is now very frustrating and time consuming. We are close to changing our 365 business licenses to a different more user friendly and efficient software suite.

    Hi!

    While I know Microsoft's decisions around functionality (or the lack thereof) is extremely frustrating and leaves us wondering what the heck are they doing, it isn't the programmer's fault. The decisions around what functionality is, or is not, included in "new" applications is most often made by a program manager, or higher. The programmer probably thinks it's stupid too, and might say that, but in the end they have to program it the way it is designed. So blame the execs, not the person trying to keep a job in a horrible economy!

    I don;' get the option to unpin - this is a waste of time I will never get back the amount of wasted time trying to stop the notifications to use edge it nor being able to get rid of the useless new outlook

    THANK YOU after clicking on that icon way too many times and HATING everything about the new interface I was desperate to remove it. Thank you for instructions that worked. :)
