Unpin New Outlook from Windows task bar

Neither of these suggestions worked for me, I did not get an 'Unpin from taskbar' option when right clicking the icon on the taskbar and I did not get an 'Options' option in the menu after opening New Outlook.

The way I had to make this virus go away from the taskbar was to click on Start > click on 'All apps' > locate 'Outlook (new)' > right click 'Outlook (new)' > click 'More' > click 'Unpin from Taskbar'.

I will never get the time back I spent blindly chasing around to find this, so thank you Microsoft.

The more I and the rest of my office uses the new Outlook the less we want to.

I've switched back to traditional/former Outlook application, but getting the icon removed from the taskbar took the unusual action of searching for it and using that method outlined above. Why can't it work like all other Microsoft apps on the taskbar and allow you to remove with a simple right-click of the icon ON the taskbar. Why is Microsoft making things HARDER and not the same or easier? Really disappointed.

Hold shift then right click and the option should be in the menu for you.

FWIW, I too switched back to Classic Outlook after a good few weeks of trying real hard to hang w/ "New". Having to figure out random stuff like this on my own is a good example of why.

If this option is not available, you can try opening New Outlook > Right-click on the taskbar icon for New Outlook > Select "Options" from the menu > In the "Taskbar" tab, click on the "Unpin this program from taskbar" button > Click "OK" to confirm, and check if the new outlook gets unpinned from Windows taskbar.

Moreover, from Menu bar, you may search for outlook and right click on the outlook(New) then click on the "Unpin from taskbar."
