How do you permanently turn off new outlook?

I don't like it, I don't want it, I am not going to switch to it, and I never want to see it again. For the longest time it would periodically switch to the new outlook, I would turn it off, and submit feedback stating the previous. Now it auto opens every single time. I do not ever want to see the new outlook again for the rest of my life. Do not make me switch to Mac or Linux or whatever because I am petty and will eventually become so disgruntled and delete everything Microsoft and never spend another dime on anything they make over something stupid. I want to know a way to permanently delete the new outlook off my system so it doesn't get to that point.

    I fixed it by starting the Outlook.exe from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 (might differ for your version of Office). But I have a switch to turn the new version on or off.

    • Outlook classic is installed with an installer
    • Outlook new is a Windows store app

    Hi Diane,

    Just stunned at the dumbed down version of Outlook on my new laptop.

    I don't have a "general" folder under Outlook in my registry.

    I have the slider in New Outlook to turn off New, but that just closes outlook. I don't get the classic back.

    Any suggestions?

    Has MS gone stupid and requiring only New with no options?

    OK. By now, I learned how to tame that Outlook (new). It's just sitting there at WindowsApps folder in peace.

    Otherwise, beside Windows Mail, I'm also using an old Windows Essentials 2012, which was a replacement for Windows Vista Mail.

    That's basically what you & Ms are saying to us.

    So, how does that feel? You did nothing wrong just like us but we're being BOOTED OUT. _

    We went through this with the original Outlook in the 90s. There we made a lot of contact card info which Ms didn't give a Rats A. YET here we are getting New Outlook shoved down our throats, something that simply does not work for MOST of us. _

    TOTALLY INCORRIGIBLE & A DETRIMENT TO Ms BUSINESS. _

    The Windows Mail app is going away. If you don't want to use new Outlook, switch to thunderbird or em client (or something else).

    ETA: trying to keep using Mail is futile.
