"Report Phishing" no longer go to Deleted Folder

In the past few days, I've noticed if I tick emails in the Junk folder to "Report Phishing", they no longer go to the deleted folder. They disappear momentarily and I get the "nothing in junk icon, etc. but, if I go to the inbox and back to the Junk folder, those emails are still there in the Junk folder.

    Hello, again ...

    1. Different Browser had no effect on the issue.
    2. Only Extension currently in use is AdBlock. Disabling that and refreshing Outlook had no effect on the issue.
    3. There are no existing rules.
    4. I was not able to find this option.
    5. Contacting Support gave me a chat window with all things already tried.

I will look into the rest of your suggestions as time allows.

Same here, started last week. Has to be a Microsoft issue. No recommendations work.

thought I was the only one using that Phishing button :)

Hello, The behavior you're experiencing with the "Report Phishing" function not moving emails to the Deleted folder could be the result of a few different things. It could be a temporary glitch, a change in how the email service handles reported phishing attempts, or an issue with the syncing process if you're using an email client. Here’s what you can try to resolve the issue: Refresh: Simple as it sounds, sometimes just refreshing the page or restarting the email client can clear up a temporary hiccup. Update: If you're using an email client, make sure it’s updated to the latest version. Outdated software can lead to unexpected behaviors. Check Settings: Look through your email settings or preferences. It's possible that an update or change in policy may have altered where reported emails go. Clear Cache: If you're using a web-based email service, clear your browser's cache and cookies. If it's an app, clear the app's cache. Re-sync: If you’re using an email client, try re-syncing your mailboxes. This can often fix issues with folders not updating correctly. Check with Provider: If the problem persists, it might be worth checking with your email service provider to see if they’ve made changes to the phishing report process. Use Webmail: Try using the webmail interface directly to see if the problem is with the email client or the email service itself. Support Forums: Visit the support forums for your email service to see if others are experiencing the same problem and if a solution has been posted. Contact Support: As a last resort, you might want to contact customer support for your email service to report the issue and seek further assistance. Remember, phishing emails are a security risk, so even if they don’t move to the Deleted folder, it's good that you're reporting them. Your email service provider uses such reports to improve their filtering and security measures. Best Regards, Saurabh

It's funny, as well, how the response from this operator looks very strongly like it was generated by an LLM. The fact that Saurabh suggests that the OP visits the Support forums for their email provider (this is where we are!) makes it appear that it's, if nothing else, a copy pasta response, with no thought behind it.
