Stop automatically installing the new Outlook

This is a bit upsetting. I use the calendar too. My deliveries feed into it as well as my appointments and reminders. And my contacts are there too. All the messages I've sent to Microsoft about Mail have been ignored. My NEW HP laptop has built-in Outlook. It's been quite a trial getting Mail to work with it. There have been a few fixes on here and only the last one worked. I guess I will go to Thunderbird also.

I will probably go for Mozilla Thunderbird.

It's been around for a long, long time. I actually tested it out in the early days and was not very impressed. However, recently I had a similar issue with my "older" Apple products, namely Mac computers bought approx 10 years ago. So, as we all know Apple stop you from updating the OS as they see appropriate. This also prevents you from updating the bundled Mail app, and I discovered that it turned out that perfectly usable computers were rendered almost useless. Looking for alternatives, I tried out Thunderbird and I have to say I like it. I have it installed on Mac computers and Linux boxes now, it works quite well. So I will probably go for it on Windows as well when M$ go through with this stupid **** forcing this bloatware app down our throats.

Yes, there are some alternatives to Windows Mail (and calendar), depending on your needs the following

are some of the best current alternatives, according to me:

• Wino Mail E-mail app that looks very much like Windows mail, it does not have the calendar function, it supports multiple accounts, has a free limited version and a paid version.
• Thunderbird Has the Firefox look, has both mail, calendar and instant messaging, supports multiple accounts, it is absolutely free, you can add extensions, and a lot more.
• Betterbird More or less the same as 'Thunderbird, but less buggy, and it works offline.
• Bluemail E-mail and calendar, supports multiple accounts, has a free and a paid version.

And there are of course many others.

I would also like to know if an alternate app with a UI like Mail is around? Definitely an opening for a program designer to re-create mail as a standalone alternate to Outlook for us all to use.

I cant believe they would rather send us to rival companies than to just leave mail for us to use.
We aren't asking for new features, updates, support etc. We would just like the functionality to remain the same for us to continue using MAIL into the future. I feel that a company should be jumping at the opportunity to save some money in development costs and call it a win that so many users like and enjoy using an already developed and rolled out piece of software.
Sometimes having a bloated user interface is NOT something that the regular user would like or need. In comparison to something that is relatively straightforward to use for the average user or someone who has limited tech knowledge behind there belt.

I understand ending user support, updates and such, BUT to take away the feature and go to such lengths to stop users from staying with the older app by setting a date where they will actually block the functionality to FORCE consumers to the new software or to rival companies.

I find that tactic absolutely disgraceful for such a large company to employ against its own users, particularly when keeping Mail would cost less money and manpower than the new Outlook alternate anyway.

Yes, the hack that was posted here works for now but I am wondering if Mail will work at all after 12/31/24. Doe s anyone know if there is another standalone program like mail? I have 4 email accounts and Outlook's font size is very uncomfortable. Anyone know of a standalone.
