Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
I have the same issue in Microsoft free mail service (not the Office app). It's killing the UX. Does Microsoft value UX?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Outlook is constantly sending legitimate emails to the junk folder. These are usually from new senders, so I can't fix it by adding their addresses—I don't know who they are ahead of time. I have tried to create rules to move things out of the junk folder automatically, or prevent emails with attachments from going to that folder, but they have no effect.
I don't mind checking the junk folder, but the problem is the Microsoft deletes junk emails after 10 days. Can I either get rid of the junk email folder (I'm happy to sort the emails myself), or have this time extended? This unwanted, unnecessary feature causes many more problems than it solves.

I have the same problem. I have been communicating back and forth with an email sales@[domain] for a rush purchase, all in my inbox. Then suddenly, Microsoft decided to junk the "your order is ready" email and now they are closed for the weekend and I missed my pickup window.
I went to Home, Junk, Junk Email Options, and it already shows that my policy is "No Automatic Filtering" so it doesn't even look like I can change anything. The sender is definitely not on my Blocked Senders list (I just checked).
This faulty junking of important and legitimate emails just caused a big business issue for me. I'm so disappointed.
WORK AROUND (bit hit and miss but worth a try IMHO)
I also have this issue. Recently as well as in the past.
It seems the only work around i found, from trial and error,
is to login to the web browser version
eg. in Edge and mark as Junk mail / add to safe sender there (not in the software / app).
Then the emails do seem to stay in the inbox.
So, to reiterate, i have to log in online into outlook.com every couple of weeks and mark the mail as safe there.
It doesn't help of course when the sender's keep changing their email address, so i have to remind myself to check junk mail folder every once in a while.
Thank you!!!!
Would you please post that YouTube link so others with the issue may benefit? Thanks!!
I believe you have to use a 3P company as a plug-in within WordPress to re-route your emails to Outlook inbox. In my case, the issue is that all emails submitted on our website on the contact us box on the website were going to junk. In this new flow, emails go from WordPress to the 3P company and then to Outlook.
