I understand as it seems the new outlook isn't fully functional or easy to use without further help from Microsoft techical team.

I have also found that the old outlook has lost functonality, for example - animated GIFs lose animation when copied (unable to copy an image anymore).

This is what led me to using the new outlook. So I am trying to get this to work for me.

I do wonder at what length new versions are beta tested before release. As we have seen here, it does cause a lot of issues for many users! Why add something that causes more issues if its not broke? (Question for the Microsoft technical team!)

Good luck and hope you find a less frustating way to navigate through both versions.

Thank you very much for your efforts. Indeed, this helps at least up to a point. Maybe I am doing something wrong, because I have to remind outlook every time of the second language. Maybe there is a save button somewhere.

I would still not choose the new outlook. Unfortunately, the old outlook refuses to accept some of my email accounts - I have several - while the new does not accept some others. For this reason I need to have both versions side by side....

    Hello,

I tested this out with adding French to my languages. So you could try it out?

You need to add your chosen language to the Editor and move it to the top (so its default) to then use the spell check.

see below - error has been highlighted. My preferred language is English so I need to add French via the Editor

Go to options (main menu bar) > Editor> Editor Settings > manage spellcheck languages > add another language

Added French then clicked on 3 dots on the right side and moved French to the top

Click on Done and now you should have spell check available for your chosen language

Left click on the highlighted misspelled word - I get options to change the spelling

I also tested if both English and French languages are available via spell check so added a sentence with a mispelled word in English

Both French and English spell check are available by left clicking on the mispelled word

    Hope this helps.

Oh OK, i do not use another language apart from English so afraid I have no experience of that.

Other than setting your default as your preferred language - that could work?
