Why am I suddenly receiving spam calendar invitations/appointments in Outlook (Microsoft 365 Family).

I found out (in this thread? I forget where) how to stop the calendar invites from automatically populating my calendar, but now no one's invite automatically populates. I think I have to look out for real invites and manually open them. And the spam filter is now intercepting some of them, but not all.

My total number of them is nowhere near the person above's total, thankfully. But here are many of them, stashed in my spam folder, keeping a tally just out of curiosity before deleting them.

I followed all of the advice i posted about in my previous messages and mine have now stopped coming through to my email, i haven't seen an RSVP ‘invite’ for months now thankfully! Sorry the advice above hasn't worked for you. Unfortunately though MS are claiming there isnt an issue and it’s nothing to do with them. I hope you manage to find a solution!

Microsoft needs to place this as a priority fix. Stop allowing senders to automatically add events to my calendar. It is going to be a pain to change my email over this, but this is getting crazy.

I'm paying for 365 and it's still hitting my calendar. MS can prevent this if they want.

First of all, your junk mail filters didn’t follow my set rules, unlike Gmail. Reporting phishing and junk isn’t doing anything as I still received the spam from the same senders. Microsoft need to buck up!

I can customise my Gmail spam folders in details that I can set specific parameters and delete those spam emails in their tracks.

There are some steps you can take to prevent and remove spam calendar invitations in Outlook: - Do not open, accept, or decline the invitations. Instead, delete them from your inbox or move them to the junk folder. - Create a rule to automatically delete or move to junk any meeting invitations from unknown or suspicious senders. You can do this in Outlook.com's settings: Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings > Junk email. - Turn off the option to show event summaries from email on your calendar. You can do this in Outlook.com's settings: Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings > Calendar > Events from email. From there, you can choose "Don't show event summaries in email or on my calendar" for each type of invite. - Report the spam invitations as phishing or junk to Microsoft.
