Hi! I just figured this out right now and wanted to share it with all of you as I was frustrated to say the least. Open your Outlook and at the top click on View next to Home. Once that opens there is an option called Folder pane. When you click on that it will give you a list, click on Sort Folders then click Order folders A to Z.

This did not work for me, BUT, I was able to sort alphabetically by choosing the "Folder pane" in the ribbon, and then "Order Folders A to Z"

The only way I've found to sort alphabetically is to close New Outlook, open Old Outlook, use the right-click > Sort function, then re-open New Outlook.
