Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Outlook for Windows seems to be syncing with Gmail now!

Hi, I'm running the new version of Outlook on Windows 11, and have connected to both my Uni (O365) and Gmail (Microsoft Cloud). O365 works fine, but the Gmail account doesn't sync read status back to gmail. I.e. outlook gets the correct read status from Gmail, and it syncs things like starring/flagging emails back to Gmail. But although I can mark things as read in Outlook, that status never syncs back to Gmail. The same is true on 3 different PCs, so it's not peculiar to one particular computer.
Any ideas?

Same here, the new Outlook is (finally after many months of notifying Microsoft) syncing read/unread status with Gmail. My computer's latest Windows update is KB5039212 (not related to Office 365 as far as I see, but just as a reference).
Does it reflect read/unread status? For example, if you read e-mails from a GMail client (like the web site or phone app), do these show as "read" in Outlook? Likewise, if you read message in Outlook, do they show up as "read" in GMail?
