Hi, I'm running the new version of Outlook on Windows 11, and have connected to both my Uni (O365) and Gmail (Microsoft Cloud). O365 works fine, but the Gmail account doesn't sync read status back to gmail. I.e. outlook gets the correct read status from Gmail, and it syncs things like starring/flagging emails back to Gmail. But although I can mark things as read in Outlook, that status never syncs back to Gmail. The same is true on 3 different PCs, so it's not peculiar to one particular computer.
Any ideas?

Same exact problem here and now they're trying to force the switch to outlook from windows mail...The "solution" of selecting 2 or more messages and setting them as read is barely a workaround and is just a pain instead.
I try BlueMail email client app and like it so far. From my experience, it uses screen real estate more efficiently. With Outlook, one usually has 3 columns: email account folders, email list, and email content. This works well on a desktop computer, but is more difficult to view on a laptop.
BlueMail moves the the email accounts on top and so it has only 2 columns of information to display. IMO, this is brilliant. (BlueMail seems to be a British company.)

I did that time and time again. I don't know why real help is so hard to get.
It's marketing. Their entire function is to sell things. Features sell. Whether the product works or not is none of their concern. I'm quite sure that no software engineer ever sees these comments. My guess is that nobody at Microsoft ever sees them. They're probably using all our comments for ChatGPT training. :-)
No, it's not peculiar. It is exactly the same for everyone. This a bug. Fix your bugs first and then tell us about "road maps".
