How do I add a background picture to the "Modern" theme in the new outlook that replaces the older mail app?

In the old Mail app I was able to add a custom background image. Since that app is going away I now have to use this version. the "modern" theme has a picture of a snow covered landscape. The options are that or nothing. There is no way to change the picture or add a picture of my choosing, even though the description says "Modern themes allow you to add a background image for further customization". How do I change this image, or add an image of my own?

    Based on your requirement. I tested and did some research for you on my side. And it seems that New outlook for windows does not have these features. So sorry to bring you inconvenience for using New Outlook for windows.

    I know sometimes it is really inconvenient for users without this feature. I can understand your mood. Thanks for bring this to Microsoft Community. Since I think your idea is really constructive. I will report this to Microsoft as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I sincerely suggest you post this precious suggestion to Microsoft.     I just had to switch from g-suite to outlook for my school account and I've just discovered this rather glaring issue. Not sure how effective commenting on a thread like this is, but I find it pretty odd that such a major platform as Microsoft doesn't allow you to use a custom image for the background/theme. Hopefully that will change in January as people have mentioned.

    Part of me is thinking that once they offically roll this out in January that they may enable the option to put in a custom image. Since Outlook for Windows is the technical "beta" they could be waiting to fully have that feature. I really hope they let us put a custom photo, that's why I don't agree with this change in the first place.

    I agree Denis. It is a change that I really don't like. I always had an image of my best friend and find uncomfortable not to have it anymore.Image
