This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school

I'm not able to add my work 365 basic account in this new Outlook anymore. I get this error: "This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."

This is ridiculous that I'm able to add my personal Gmail, my personal Outlook email, but can't add my work account which my company pays money for. Now you want to charge us more by upgrading from basic to standard to able to use your new Outlook I see. I also noticed ads right in my Inbox in this new Outlook. Seriously? Ads too now? Well, it seems like you're very desperate lately dear Microsoft and using such enforcing brute tactics on us - users won't do good for you. It will have opposite effect in fact: Now I will tell my IT boss to switch to Google instead. And guess what? I won't be the only one doing this. You know what's your problem, Microsoft? You never listen and you never care about us. You just do what you want to do and it's all about squizzing money out of us while giving us worst products compared to other companies.

P.S. By the way, your new Outlook sucks and everything you give us lately sucks too.

This is a mess. No reply from Microsoft, and this new Outlook is supposed to live in less than 2 months??

I have the same problem here, switch on "try the new outlook", my ******@outlook.com email account still in place and the system force me to remove my working account. which is ridiculous, i have paid this outlook apps with office365 package and my company paid for my email account with exchange license, so why I cannot use both together, means my company need transfer email to google?

anyway, i tried switch off "try the new outlook" seems my working email account came back, you may try that.

We need the solution to this @Microsoft, this solution is still not fixed, since I have upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10, I cannot add my account in New Outlook for Windows and am forced to use either PWA or the old mail app or web-based option.

Please confirm when we can expect the solution.

It is absurd to see that no one from Microsoft is responding on this thread to guide their customer.

We can add an exchange (T1 or T2) account to any email client software but not to the new Outlook...

That's why i use MacOS mail app... (and Mac OS for that matter)

    Nice job Microsoft
