I do not get any verification codes sent to my email

My outlook email does not get any verification codes, I did all the basic things like checking my spam checking my blocked users and everything, nothing works. I recently got a pc and want to link my video game accounts from console to pc for example my Activison account, but when it tells me to verify my email by typing the code that was sent to my email I do not get any. I tested if it was with all emails by sending myself an email with a different email and I got it, it seems to not work when I need a verification code becuase I have tried with my epic account and my activision account and neither work. Please this is a serious issue, what if it was not video games, what if it was something more important like a bank account, I need this fixed as soon as possible please and thankyou.

I'm not sure if anyone else already mentioned this but it's the only thing it worked for me. This requires you can still login through other methods on the microsoft website, since in my case, i didn't get a verification code when it was "sent" through windows/xbox app/microsoft store.

  1. Go to your Microsoft Account on the browser
  2. Go to Security -> Manage logins

3- Add a new login method or verification

4- Select "Use an application". This are authentication apps, probably the safest option to have on your account.

After step 4 just follow the instructions it gives you, and next time you try to login, it will ask for the code in the authentication app instead. It will recommend using the Microsft Auth app, but you could use any other if you know about it.

Remember that if you do this, and want to change your phone later, you'll need to probably migrate the app to the new device, just investigate what you need to do after.

    I solved it by using a device with the account previously logged in to change the password, it somehow make the second factor authentication working again, I now receive the code by e-mail to authenticate in other devices.

    If you still have access to that account in some device, try to change its password.

    I contacted Bluesky about the issue I have with not receiving their 2FA emails, we ran through a bunch of troubleshooting together including checking that the email address that is registered on my account is correct.

    So, I contacted Microsoft Support, they would not help unless I could provide an SMTP email log from Bluesky proving that they are sending the email.

    What I found ridiculous is Microsoft Support would not even entertain looking at my email account / receive log at their end to check if anything was being received from blue sky or to check how routing / spam filtering was being applied to my account. So, in effect pushing the issue back to Bluesky.

    I have pretty much given up of any hope of gaining access to my account and will probably end up creating a new account with Bluesky using a non-Microsoft email address, as others have ended up doing with the same issue.

    Just in case it helps others here is as summary of troubleshooting I have taken so far:

    All tested using the web version of Outlook.com to rule out any local email client issues.

    * I can send and receive email to/from other senders.

    * I can send and receive email to/from BlueSky support at ******@bsky.app

    * Checked Junk email / Spam email folder.

    * I do have not any configured email 'Rules'

    * Added bsky.app bsky.social and noreply@bsky.social to safe senders / safe mailing lists (as per BlueSky Support)

    * Added *@bluesky.com, *@bsky.app and *@bsky.social to safe senders / safe mailing lists (as per BlueSky Support)

    * Tested with different browsers (Edge/Chrome/Firefox) on different computers.

    * Disabled all Adblockers, also tested on a PC with no Adblockers installed.

    * Tested with different DNS providers set on my local computer.

    * Tested with different computers on different physical networks / broadband providers.

    * I have the same issue when attempting to log into the BlueSky App on my Mobile connected to 4G / 5G

    Junk Email Settings outlook.live.com

    * Incoming mail handling: Standard

    * Security options (Both Unticked)

    *Blocked senders and domains (Empty)

    Yep same for me. I am unable to get codes from EvE Online (game). I have accounts in is that game that are gmail, and that works every time. Hotmail/Outlook/Live seems problematic for a portion of the player base.
