I do not get any verification codes sent to my email

My outlook email does not get any verification codes, I did all the basic things like checking my spam checking my blocked users and everything, nothing works. I recently got a pc and want to link my video game accounts from console to pc for example my Activison account, but when it tells me to verify my email by typing the code that was sent to my email I do not get any. I tested if it was with all emails by sending myself an email with a different email and I got it, it seems to not work when I need a verification code becuase I have tried with my epic account and my activision account and neither work. Please this is a serious issue, what if it was not video games, what if it was something more important like a bank account, I need this fixed as soon as possible please and thankyou.

I'm not sure if anyone else already mentioned this but it's the only thing it worked for me. This requires you can still login through other methods on the microsoft website, since in my case, i didn't get a verification code when it was "sent" through windows/xbox app/microsoft store.

  1. Go to your Microsoft Account on the browser
  2. Go to Security -> Manage logins

3- Add a new login method or verification

4- Select "Use an application". This are authentication apps, probably the safest option to have on your account.

After step 4 just follow the instructions it gives you, and next time you try to login, it will ask for the code in the authentication app instead. It will recommend using the Microsft Auth app, but you could use any other if you know about it.

Remember that if you do this, and want to change your phone later, you'll need to probably migrate the app to the new device, just investigate what you need to do after.

    To whom it may concern.

    I have done everything you have instructed but i am still unable to receive the verification code from this address: d*********@arts.on.ca which is from Nova (Ontario art council).

    I would appreciate it deeply if the Team could assist me please, the system blocks the verification code and i really need access to my account.

    The issue is:

    * Verification codes do no end up in Junk

    * Can't add domain to safe sender as don't know apriori what the domain the verification code will come from

    * I have to the use my Gmail address and code comes through.

    * I had a Hotmail address and it was very bad for this. My new outlook address is better, but I just had a failure trying to get a code from Eventbrite.

    * It's really annoying. I work around is to use Gmail, then get code and note the domain, then add that to safe sender list, and then can get code BUT you can't add to the safe sender list from Android outlook client app, so then have to find a laptop and do it there.

    * Really annoying...
