How do I enable copy and paste in the new outlook?

I am not able to directly copy any documents from Explorer and then go to the email that I am working on to paste onto the emial. Before with the Old Outlook I was able to to do this easily but the New Outlook requires me to go to the "paper clip" Icon above then search thru the Explorer to find the file then the specific documents(which couple be hundred documents); this process takes sometime 5 miniuets to find the exact document to copy and paste. I need to do it the Old Outlook ways or "Classic" format so that I can do just the cut and paste as mentioned earlier of this email. Pleas advise ASAP thanks.

Cutting and pasting is completely different that attaching an entire copy of a document. Also, the inability to cut and past prevents people from cutting and pasting from things other than documents, like email addresses. This removal of the cut and paste feature is ridiculous.

So let me try to explain why being able to cut and paste is necessary from a sales perspective.

Lets say you have a doc that is five pages long, and filled with a lot of tech jargon.

You are reaching out to a decision maker that is not a tech guy, but a money guy that just wants to know what you bring in simple terms to help their entire organization make/save money. It is much better to be able to cut and paste the pertinent info from the originating document to that money guy directly into the body of the email so that he sees that information and acts upon that information. I don't need to tell him all about everything that we do to prevent cyber attacks, I only need to give the contact a slight sampling of what we are able to provide that will prevent attacks and save their firm money and protect their reputation. (Also, This person will not open an attachment because he has heard that he should not open attachments.) The client money person does not want to go through a multi-page doc from me describing in detail what we do to prevent account takeover.

This is just one small scenario among hundreds of scenarios, that tell you why I need to be able to cut and paste into the body of the email rather than attaching the entire tech document. Some of the target people at the client prospect will not even touch an attached document.

MS should more thoroughly field test software across multiple types of user groups. I'm on day 1 with the new outlook and I've already googled for fixes to several significant issues like this one. Either they aren't field testing enough, or they aren't testing with the right participants.

Another very frustrating one is that the "tab" key no longer gives a set spacing in your email. Instead, it is inserting a fixed number of spaces.

There is a very simple solution. Unless you have deinstalled Outlook Classic, it will still be there. It mirrors all the messaging of the new Outlook, so you can switch with no issues. To find go to the Start menu and type "Outlook" in the search bar, or go down the list of installed apps and it should appear there as "Outlook Classic". Open it and all the usual functionally remains.

    Hope that helps

I'm sick to death of Microsoft fixing things which are not broken. In order to move things, I downloaded an extension called "Capture It". It's free and easy. Just copy from one place and paste into another. Try it.
